and preferences stay on your device unless you deliberately back them

MicroCAS is provided by Complex Automation Systems GmbH.
In this Privacy Policy, "MicroCAS", "we", "us", and "our" refer to
Complex Automation Systems GmbH.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the MicroCAS application and related
support and privacy contact channels.
MicroCAS is built to work locally on the device without requiring a
user account, always-on cloud services, or a recurring subscription
for core use.
3. Core Privacy Model
- Core calculations and creation workflows run on your device.
- No account is required for core usage.

Your custom calculators, saved calculations, history, materials,
and preferences stay on your device unless you choose to back

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
MicroCAS may store the following categories of data locally so the
app can function and preserve your local app state:
- App preferences, language, themes, dashboard layout, and menu order
- Favorites, recent tools, and recent smart-query history
- Saved calculations, timestamps, inputs, and outputs

Custom calculators, including formulas, labels, units, graph
settings, descriptions, and preview images
- Custom materials and related reference entries
- Local backup files created for migration or restoration
5. Data We Receive Only If You Choose To Send It
We do not automatically receive your local app content in the
core app flow. We may receive data only when you deliberately send
or disclose it, for example:
- when you send a backup file or other app data outside your device;

when you email us, submit a privacy request, ask for support, or
contact us through our website;

when app stores or platform services provide purchase, licensing,
fraud-prevention, or compliance information.
6. Calculator Backup and Transfer Files
MicroCAS may let you create local backup or transfer files so you
can restore your calculator data later or move it to another
device.
These files may include formulas, titles, descriptions, labels,
units, graph settings, reference bindings, saved preferences, and
related app data that you created.
If you choose to create or send a backup or transfer file, you
control where it goes and who receives it.
7. Restoration and Device Migration
Backup and restore flows are intended to help you continue using
your saved calculators, app preferences, and related local data on
the same device or another device you control.
When you initiate a restore or migration, the files involved may
contain locally stored calculator definitions, saved values,
materials, history, and preferences.
We do not automatically receive those files in the normal app flow.
8. How We Use Data
- to make the app work as a local engineering calculator app;
- to save preferences and preserve local app state;
- to generate backup, restore, or migration files at your request;
- to respond to support, feedback, and privacy inquiries;
- to handle legal, accounting, compliance, fraud-prevention, or security obligations where applicable.
9. What We Do Not Do in the Core App Flow
- We do not require account creation for everyday core workflows.

- We do not process payment card information directly inside the app.
10. External Services and Third Parties
Even though MicroCAS is local-first, some third parties may process
limited data in certain situations:

app stores and platform providers may process purchase, download,
installation, update, crash, licensing, fraud-prevention, or
compliance data under their own policies;

operating system share sheets, mail clients, file pickers, and
storage providers may process files or metadata when you choose to
use them;

website, email, or contact providers may process data when you
contact us through external channels;

regulators, advisors, auditors, or legal authorities may receive
data where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect
rights, safety, or compliance.
We do not sell your personal data.
11. Retention and Deletion
Local app data
Because MicroCAS is local-first, most app data remains on your
device until you take action.
- delete items individually;
- replace local data through a restore you initiate;
- clear app data through your device or operating system;
- uninstall the app;
- remove copied backups from your own storage locations.
Support and privacy contact data
If you contact us, we may retain your message, contact details, and
attachments for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, resolve
issues, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations.
12. Security
We use a local-first design to reduce unnecessary transmission of
user data. However, no method of storage, transfer, or computing
environment is completely risk-free.
- Protect access to your device.
- Review files before sending or restoring them.

Be careful about placing sensitive information into custom
calculators, notes, preview images, or backup files.
- Choose secure destinations when saving or moving files.
13. Children
MicroCAS is a general-audience technical productivity app and is not intended for children.
14. Your Choices and Rights
Because most MicroCAS data is stored locally on your own device,
many privacy controls are available directly to you.
- Delete custom calculators, saved calculations, and local files
- Avoid sending backup files off the device
- Remove copied backups from your own storage locations
- Uninstall the app or clear local app storage
- Contact us with privacy questions or requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have
rights regarding personal data we hold outside the device-only app
flow, subject to legal limitations and exceptions.
15. International Processing
If you contact us or use external support, website, or email
channels, your information may be processed in the countries where
we or our service providers operate, subject to applicable legal
safeguards.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect
changes in the app, legal requirements, support processes, store
disclosures, or business operations.
When we update this policy, we will revise the effective date shown
at the top of this page.
